SITE MAINTENANCE Our old server was limiting and slow. In order to accommodate our changing needs, we have decided to move to a new address. Welcome to it! Unfortunately, the move has interfered with certain of the site's features, including the most popular feature (the forums). While there are some great boat dives that are not to be missed up here, most people who start diving in Alaska will start with shore entries. Take advantage of the fact by swimming along the bottom all the way out of the water, instead of ascending vertically along a line. It's a good way to guarantee a gradual ascent, and to automatically build a safety stop into your dive plan without having to stay in one place for 3 minutes.

Homer

Never dove in Homer. I would like to, particularly across the bay near Halibut Cove or any of the other little coves. I have a feeling all of those little kayaking spots are also great dives. One caution from my experience on the surface of Homer's water, though - there are areas where tide changes can create really dangerous currents. Stay out of those areas, and know where you're diving before you dive it.
